CLASH OF THE PRINTS

Clashing prints are probably one of the trickiest trends to pull off since double denim made its return to the fashion scene. Get it right and you could have even your fashion rivals in awe, but get it wrong and they might not let you off so easily. This look is definitely not for the faint hearted, but we've taken the trend from the runway and given it an M + K makeover to bring you a few more wearable ways of rocking one of this season's hottest trends.

Floral + Stripes
This by far has to be our most worn and loved mixed print combination. Our tip to those still wary of how to pull off this trend is try picking two prints that have a colour in common. Here the black stripes in the sweater and black background of the dark floral print pulls the whole outfit together.

Sweater: H & M / Shorts: Forever21  / Shoes: Ipanema

Cheater
Still not confident with your mixing prints prowess? Don't worry,  a piece like this top can help you cheat your way to fashion maestro status by taking out the hard work of mixing and matching different prints.

Top: Bershka / Pants: UNIQLO  / Shoes: Sandler

Date it
When we say clashing prints, we aren't stricly referring to those printed onto fabrics. Try playing around with different textures like the eyelet cutouts on this top. Coupled with the navy polka dot skirt, we think this makes for the perfect date outfit!

Top: Cotton On / Skirt: Cotton On / Rings: Colette and Lovisa

Yes, this is one tricky and sometimes not so successful trend, but don't be afraid to give it a spin. If you're ever short on ideas on how to pair up your favourite then don't panic, you have the richest source of fashionable ideas at your finger tips.

COACHELLA INSPIRED OUTFITS

There's no better place to spend time under the sun, dancing like there's nobody watching, than Coachella! The annual music fest has become just as much about the stellar fashion as it is about the line-up, with the sands of Indio, California transformed into a runway for revelers, fashionistas and celebrities alike. The two week event is definitely a great place to start when looking for outfits you can rock all summer long.
Spending hours treading the sun-baked earth and dancing in sweaty crowds means that every outfit needs to be a combination of comfort and chic (who knows which celebrities you'll be rubbing shoulders with?!!).

We know we're a little late to the party with this post, but here are some Coachella inspired looks to file away for your next music festival or any other sizzling day of summer!

Sunny Days

Unless you want dirt covered cavemen feet, we'd stay well away from sandals and even further away from heels! Closed-toe shoes are your best bet to protect your feet from other revelers. Lace, florals, denim and a pair of comfy canvas shoes always make for a fashionable combination for any desert flocking festival goer!

Shorts: Just Jeans
Shoes: Rubi Shoes

Bohemian Rhapsody

Is there anything that screams Coachella louder than aztec prints?! This outfit is the perfect balance of girl next door and grungy chic, with a pair of combat boots bound to turn your favourite sundress into a headline act. If there's anything we've learnt trawling through Coachella snaps, it's that music revellers love to accessorise, so don't be afraid to layer up your necklaces, braceletes and rings the next time you hit the mosh pits.

Dress: Dotti
Necklaces: Lovisa and Diva
Boots: Rubi Shoes

Romping Around

While some of us revel in putting an outfit together from head to toe, others may find it more stressful than the rush to snap up tickets to the festival. The romper is the perfect way to cheat your way to fashionista status.

Sunglasses: Portmans
Headband: Gloss
Romper: My revolution
Shoes: Rubi Shoes
What were your favourite trends you spotted at Coachella, and which one of those will you be sporting?

Wantable March Box Review

Subscription boxes have taken the beauty world by storm, but with so many on the market, it can be a nightmare choosing one. What drew us to Wantable is the fact that all the products are full sized which is something we look for in a subscription box. There's nothing we hate more than receiving a small sample sized cream that would barely cover the face of a new born let alone a grown human being!

The unique site allows subscribers to take a 'personal style quiz' to build what we like to call a "beauty profile" of the products and shades you'd love to receive in your box and those you are not so keen on. The monthly contents of the boxes are a surprise, but this way you can avoid the disappointment of receiving something that you probably will never use.

On opening the box, we were immediately impressed by the packaging with each product packed in its own velvet draw string bag. It's clear that the deisgn team over at Wantable have put plenty of thought into the presentation of their boxes which we can appreciate.

Now on to the goodies...

Glam Natural cream blush in Ashley, Ashley
The consistency of this blush is more like a mousse then cream, but what we love about this product is that it is quite light and true to it's claim, it is extremely velvety on application. What we like most though is that it gives you the perfect natural, Miranda Kerr-esque blush. However we found that the product is quite difficult to build up. So if you're a happy little Vegemite and prefer a more dramatic look, then this probably isn't for you. As with any cream blush, this product was slightly, for lack of a better word, greasy. So if you've got slightly oilier skin, you might want to stay away from this product or save it for the cooler months when your skin may be drier. With that being said, we think the dewy finish gives a nice glow when placed on the apples of the cheeks.

Do excuse the mess of a hair!

La Bella Donna Mineral Light Lip Colour in Shell
The packaging of this lipstick is quite luxurious and really does reflect the product. The lipstick is extremely creamy and glides on like a dream. This is the perfect your lips but better colour which will make it a permanent fixture in our handbags!

Liberty Republic Spellbound Nail Lacquer in Talisman
If you haven't caught on already with our glitter polish obsession, then where have you been?! The metallic polish has fast become one of our favourites. The formulation is spot on with only one coat required for an opaque finish. If this particular nail polish is anything to go by, we will definitely be hunting down some more Liberty Republic polishes to add to our collection.

Three Custom Color in Brown Sugar
Call us boring, but we'd choose neutrals over bright and wild coloured eyeshadow any day! So of course we were thrilled to get this little guy in our Wantable box. Ok, if you ask our mum she'd probably tell you that we have more than enough brown shadows to last us a life time. But in our opinion, you can't ever have enough of them! This Three Custom Color eyeshadow is silky and extremely versatile. You can blend it into your crese, wet an angled brush for a more natural liner or even use it to fill in your eyebrows. However, like the blush it is not extremely pigmented. We haven't tried it with a wet brush yet, so hopefully that will help to get more colour pay off.

We know this is Wantable's March box, so we're extremely sorry for the late review! We've just finished our uni exams, so we  pinky promise that we'll get our posts in order, but overall we were quite impressed by our box and the goodies that were selected for us. We think the products are very true to our 'beauty style' which made unboxing it that much more exciting.

An Elitist Experience

We've always been passionate about putting our support behind home grown brands, especially when they are just starting out which is why we were excited to attend Elitist Code's launch last Thursday. Elitist Code is an Australian online store which specialises in women's fashion and prides itself on making a woman feel confident and glamorous with their unqiue designs.

The event was held at Madonna's Hard Candy Fitness which we thought was appropriate considering the brands philosophy of empowering women.

One of the highlights of the nights was definitely the catering which was provided by Top Juice.

Here's a pre-show snap of us!

There were quite a few pieces that caught our eyes, but these are these were by far our favourites of the night.

We were also lucky enough to speak with the owner, Jessica, of Elitist Code (second from left) who is pictured here with her gorgeous models.

And here is us being interviewed by Red Scope Films.

We know the quality of the photos aren't up to our usual standard, but the lighting was terrible inside. Hopefully you still enjoyed seeing glimpses of this new brand.
