Style Snag: Miranda Kerr

When we're looking for style inspiration, one star who always catches our attention is our favourite Victoria's Secret model and fellow Aussie- Miranda Kerr. Whether she's working the red carpet,  strutting the catwalk, or even out running errands, Miranda has the most enviable style.
She is one of those girls who looks amazing in whatever she wears, but we definitely love her most for her sassy street style.

We think this outfit is perfect for the Australian Autumn when it can still get a little warm. However, with a pair of tights and boots this look will transition wonderfully into the Winter months.

"Dress up like Hipsters"

Worn by the likes of Taylor Swift and Zoey Deschanel, Hipster fashion is as popular as ever. We brainstormed some wearable outfit ideas to help you channel your inner hipster.

OUTFIT 1:
Stripes and high-waisted jeans are essentials for a basic hipster look, especially for those who are just starting to experiment with this style but do not want to dive into the deep end just yet.

OUTFIT 2:

This is a dressier option for aspiring hipsters, with the bows giving the outfit a unique touch.

  OUTFIT 3:

This is our favourite by far. The mocassins  add a nice pop of colour with the layering of the denim and the sweater making this the perfect outfit for transitioning into Autumn.

The Hipster trend may not be your cup of tea, but hopefully with this post we have inspired you to step out of your comfort zone and dabble in different styles. If you are not brave enough then start off small, with something like the first outfit, and as you build up the courage, work your way up to a look that is more adventrous.

We've seen countless tags like this floating around so we thought it would be fun to give it a go...

1. Favourite Autumn nail polish?
Revlon Raisin Rage

2. What is your must have lip colour this Autumn?
Bold red lips like Covergirl's lip perfection lipstick in Hot Passion (Taylor Swift's actual lipstick!)

3. Favourite Autumn clothing item?
Any cardigan or light sweater. They are extremely versatile and comfy. They can be dressed up or down and provide enough warmth as the days start to get a little cooler.

4. What Autumn trends are you most excited about this year (makeup and/or fashion)?
We are loving anything oxblood (by the way make sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming post on how to style oxblood) and statement necklaces which are great for dressing up sweaters!

Makeup wise, we are excited about donning bold lips this season!

5. Favourite perfume for Autumn?
We love our original Chloe perfume all year round!!

6. Most wanted item?
New pair of boots!!

7. Tea, hot chocolate or coffee??
We love green tea and hot chocolate (with marshmallows of course!!). But we hate the taste of coffee (but strangley love the smell :))

8. Favourite Autumn accessories?
scarves for sure!! Especially infinity scarves and floral scarves even though people prefer to reserve them for spring

We hope you guys enjoyed this. Let us know if you have done this tag in the comments below and we'll be sure to check it out. Keep an eye out for our new style post which will be out sometime this week.

Autumn/Winter Fashion Forecast 2013

With the cold and wet weather that comes with it, winter can often leave you feeling deflated with our fashion taking a hit. So today we thought we'd give you a glimpse into our crystal ball and have put together a preview of what we anticipate will be this season’s biggest trends. We did not have to look far for inspiration, with some of our favourite celebrities and style icons already sporting these looks.

COLOURS:
Oxblood and Moss/ khaki green: Pretty much anything in these two hues are in demand this season. From jeans to sweaters get your hands on these colours fast!

TEXTURES:
Leather:  Anything leather is bang on trend- jackets, skirts and minis, shorts layered with tights, boots, bags and even disco pants are all making a big splash this Autumn/Winter season!
Studs: Studded detailing adds an edgy vibe to any outfit. They look great on collared shirts, bags and especially boots.

ITEMS:
Loose Knits/sweaters: An easy and comfy Autumn/Winter must-have, knits are great paired with tights, jeans, skirts and even tucked in. By adding your favourite accessories and a cute pair of shoes you will have a head-turning outfit fit for any occasion.

Boots: Studded and combat boots in particular, are fashion staples for this season. Transform a Summer/Spring dress or skirt for the cooler months by pairing it with some cosy tights and your favourite boots. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different heights, styles and textures.

In the next few weeks we will show you how to style some of these upcoming trends and more so follow us and stay tuned, you don’t want to miss out!!!

Style Snag: Alexa Chung at the Brits

The star studded Brit Awards were filled with drool worthy celebs and their designer fashion.

Always the picture of effortless chic, fashionista Alexa Chung donned a cream Valentino playsuit. Many critics questioned whether it was too casual, but we think she looks fabulous with the heavy textured material adding sophistication and class to what would have otherwise been a casual look. Chung allowed the cream ensemble to take centre stage, pairing the playsuit with no accessories and Jimmy Choo’s suede pointed-black Agnes heels.
Parisiain white sunflower overlay playsuit from shopstyle $37.18 l Colette Thin Fashion belt $9.95 I Isabella Brown Fabian1 shoes from Shoe Box $49.95 NOW $19.95

Colour My World: Workwear

Work wear can often seem tedious, but it doesn’t have to be. We’ll show you that whether you’re making spread sheets or crunching numbers you can still do it in style. The days of separating your fun and colourful weekend clothes from your dull office drabs are over!

OUTIFT 1:

This first outfit is a modern take on the traditional work ensemble of shirt and skirt, incorporating colour with a neutral office staple. The painterly print sleeveless button-up blouse adds pizzazz to the simple black circle skirt. We’ve paired the outfit with an ivory faux snake skin bag which ties in well with the ivory from the top.

OUTIFT 2:

This outfit is perfect for a busy woman on the move. The dress speaks for itself so you don’t need to fuss over accessories. Simply add a belt to define the waistline and slip on a pair of your favourite heels and you’re good to go. The bright floral print makes this a statement dress for Summer and Spring, but is extremely versatile and can easily be taken into Autumn/Winter with a pair of tights and a tailored blazer.

As you’ve probably realised, the outfits we went for were both skater style which is bang on trend. The cinched in waist accentuates the smallest part of your body and the full skirt distracts from all the bumps and lumps we know we all have.
So the next time you’re putting together an outfit for work remember  to step away from the safe and boring black and white,  instead incorporate colour and fun prints. Experiment with shapes and different cuts but avoid poorly tailored suits.
Embrace the colours of the rainbow and make every day a fashionable day!
